Shashi can help transform houses into warm and inviting homes.

She has a passion for beautiful interiors and specializes in working with budgets that suit client needs. Rather than pushing a particular style or product she first gains an understanding of the clients’ lifestyle and requirements and works with them to create individual spaces to suit their family’s needs.

She has the skill and the ability to guide the client to add those special touches that make a house a stylish home by showing them a world of ideas, design and style. It is her attention to detail, her intimate knowledge of furniture and furnishings and the gentle ability to work with client’s wants that make her a sought after consultant for home interior design needs.

Professional Fees

We can offer advice on styling, layout and the flow of your home and if required, source  furniture, soft furnishings, artwork and floor coverings to help achieve a beautiful interior for you. Marbella Home offers two options.

Option 1

A one off 2 hour consultation in your home. This is perfect for someone who does not feel the need to engage an interior stylist but would like guidance and advice with their design/decorating project.  The fee for this is $350.

Option 2

You may want to engage our services for a small project such as consultation on colour schemes or to re-vamp a treasured family furniture item.

Or, you may want to update the décor of a particular room or rooms. Interior decoration services include:

  • Furniture, lighting and accessories selection
  • Custom upholstery
  • Colour consulting
  • Window treatments
  • Artwork sourcing and selection
  • Furniture placement and styling

We will work together with  you to establish your styling needs and deliver it. What this means is sourcing and ordering the items, liaising with the suppliers, organising delivery of items through to the final styling.

Our fees for Option 2  will be based on our estimate of time required  and the type of interior decoration service required. We will provide a quotation in advance for the project after a briefing from you. It may be a combination of a fixed flat fee and an hourly fee based on the project.

You have the option of purchasing items directly yourself or through our extensive network of trade-only suppliers and manufacturers where substantial discounts on retail prices can be achieved.

What a great experience it was to work with an interior designer who fully understands the brief and the budget.

On reflection, I gave Shashi quite a number of challenges. The first was the location of Kangaroo Valley which is 2.5 hours from her place in Sydney. Secondly the timeline was tight, as all items had to be secured within 4 weeks from her initial visit to the house when she measured up the space and saw the layout of the rooms, through to the styling and photo shoot. Thirdly, the budget was very limited for such a large home of 4 bedroom as well as a large ‘other’ room.

The house was virtually empty, having only a teak day bed, queen bed and 2 bedside tables. Luckily most of the large furniture items were purchased locally to reduce the freight costs. Being mindful of freight costs, Shashi assisted in choosing a lounge that would work in the space, meet the brief of modern and stylish, be reasonably priced and most importantly, be immediately available .

The brief was to work with these large and dominating pieces to create a warm, stylish home that stood out from the competition when prospective visitors were searching online for accommodation.  As the house had to deliver from a commercial aspect, Shashi’s strong marketing experience was of significant value. She researched the competition looking at both the presentation and  features in other comparable properties, recommended the best function for the large ‘other’ room and chose a style and themes for the different rooms.
The ‘other’ room was a challenge as the budget was small and the space large. Shashi’s idea was to create a games room centered around a ping-pong table. The ping-pong table was a great suggestion as it is not only attractive to visitors, but it also filled the vacuous space.  She balanced the games room with a dart board, board games, stereo and keyboard.

On her way home, Shashi’s dedication and keen eye saw her purchase comfortable armchairs, rattan chairs, styling and other functional items – as after a short visit to the property she had a clear picture in her mind of the look and feel she wanted to create for Clerevale. Having said that though, she had to make a few changes on the fly based around the colours and patterns of quilt covers, which, once in place, were different from those initially chosen.  The finished look is stunning!

Being remote, and with me being in another country, all our communication was via phone calls, text and emails. I am astounded at what Shashi has been able to deliver.  She has created a warm and luxurious environment with great attention to the marketability of the home, stunning presentation, and adherence to budget.

She is an absolute professional who is charming to work with and delivers exceptional results. I highly recommend her.
